Does she have any names of any of her mom's or dad's relatives? Aunts, uncles, names of her siblings? Having just a little bit of names helps.

A birth certificate would have been required for:

1. Registration for entering school.
2. Applying for a social security card.
3. Applying for a driver's license.
4. Applying for a marriage license.

What did she use in applying for any of the above documents? Did she get a delayed birth certificate? It would be difficult for vital statistics to search for a birth certificate without at least the mother's maiden name. Does she know for sure if the father was not named on the birth certifcate? He could have been? Did she search at Johns Hopkins or did she search at Vital Statistics? I have not had any experience in searching for birth certificates without knowing the mother's name. Maybe someone else reading this forum has.
