Re: Health Care Reform or what ?
In Response To: Health Care Reform or what ? ()
I am assuming that when he speaks of a government plan he is referring to the same pool as governement employess have access to. He has said that in his speeches. My husband is a retired govenerment employee. During open enrollment we receive a huge booklet listing different health insurance companies that are available in our area. This includes a government comprehensive plan along with plans by Blue Cross, Aetna, etc. All are offered at reduced rates because the government pays a portion and because the size of the group is so large. Since we are retirees our portion is large than prior to retirement. At the moment, the government is paying about $700.00 oer month while we pay around $250 for my husband and myself. We have Aetan Open Access which also includes dental coverage. Our copays and deductible are very small. I am a former health insurance claims examiner and auditor. The amount of waste and overcharging done in the health care industry is amazing. It has needed to be overhauled at least for 30 plus years. Insurance is taking us all for a ride regardless of the type. Life insurance companies like Met Life are the worst. Messages In This Thread
