Do you know the names of Robert's parents or grandparents? I have a Robert KEMP who came from Fulton (Callaway County). I come from the Richard (1843-1896) and Hattie KEMP line. I can't be sure because I don't have my notes in front of me, but Richard and Hattie may have had a son named Robert. Richard KEMP was a Civil War veteran who died tragically while at work on the Quincy Railroad. They had other children, and one daughter is Lavonia (sp?), which is interestingly close to your name.
