i do not know very much about my waters ancestors, there is some great mystery and the last one who would/could tell us anything died dec 2004. my gparents were elizabeth and john rufus waters. he was 22 yrs older than she and was an indian. by tracing birth records on aunt and uncles it appears they lived in kiowa,ok and sev small towns on tx-ok border prior to settling in neylanville,tx in hunt co. this is on the outskirts of greenville, tx.this is an all black town founded by my matertal ggggrfa jim brigham. my paternal waters family -all deceased- j.d.,martha,flora,ruth, pearl,l.p,charles,bill,james, and my farther, robert. if you know any of these folks let me know. seems there might be a waco area connection.
