Let me get back with you. I just realized that I hadn't posted a response to your earlier post. It's a bit eerie to me, because I've just recently opened up an old box of my research papers dealing with Princess Anne County. The surnames you listed are familiar to me. My great great uncle, Daniel Langley married a Rebecca Nicholls I think. They never had children though. I too have someone named Africa in my family. Daniel's father's name was Africa Langley, born also in Princess Anne County. My family also left Princess Anne and migrated to Norfolk, after the Civil War. I've been able to trace part of their movement from the county to the city through the Freedmen's Bureau records. I'll take a look at what I have and see if it matches any members of your family.

Is this generation the furthest back you've been able to go? Have you tried researching the slave owner's family?
