I finally had time to check a few things out regarding The Brodie's in N.C. There is no doubt, no connection. The Brodie's that I am related to did not move to N.C. until the early 1880's.

I found some info on Edmond Kelly & Marie Kelly, here is what I found:

In the 1880 census:

Edmond Kelly, Louisburg, Franklin Co. NC b. 1826 Husband
Maria Kelly, " " b. 1825 Wife
Sam Kelly, " " b. 1860 Son
Numan Kelly " " b. 1862 Son
N. Indianna Kelly " " b. 1865 Daughter
Senie Kelly " " b. 1868

Mariah's name was spelled Maria. I searched further and found in
the 1920 Census:

Sam Kelly, Louisburg, Franklin, NC b.(abt)1858 Husband
Delaine Kelly " " Wife
Dan or Don Kelly " " Son
Mariah Kelly " " Daughter
John Kelly " " Son
????? " " Daughter
Tracy " " Daughter
Linn " " Daughter
Kate " " Daughter
Mariah " "90 yrs old Mother of Sam

Sam owned his own home!!!! He was a General Farmer....

I looked up info on a Mariah Brodie b. in 1830 Rocky Springs, SC, but I dont think it is the same person. I have to look it up again and pay attention to the dates.
