I am researching "Brodie's" in Franklin County, N.C. My interest begins with Dr. Furman L. Brodie, b. 1855 in South Carolina. He was born a slave. He went to Biddle University in NC. He married Annie Pierce of N.C. She was a School Teacher. He was one of the Founders of Brooklyn Presbyterian Church in NC. I have a picture of him. He and Annie (his wife) had 11 children. I can supply you with their names. If you have any names that you are researching, please let me know. I also have an article that was written about him in 1921 & his obituary that was published in an AA newspaper back in 1923.
