Great links posted ! Though somewhat off-topic, please take note that "Corporate America" has taken notice of the Sea Islands. It appears that the next wave of exclusive resort areas and golf courses are envisioned there...and the Gullah people are being displaced at an alarming rate. Yes, many of the younger people are opting to head for the cities in search of education and jobs...but the elders have no such desires, and merely wish to keep their community, lifestyle, etc. intact without intrusion from the "outside" world. My fear is that the displacement of the Gullah people will result in the destruction of a culture and becoming a footnote in a history book.
