Hi Regina! Here I go with a looooong shot! Ok, my Whearry's of Terrell County Georgia, were at one time Jones' and they were from SC. From what I've been able to gather, I believe they may have been from up in either Chester or York Counties. I see that Chesterfield is only a county away from Chester, so that's my long shot.

My Grgrgrandfather in 1870 (GA) was listed as Martin Jones. His wife's name was Viney.

In 1880, they were all listed as Whearry.
