On both sides of my family I am plagued with common last names. I am from Virginia and the last names I am trying to research are Patterson (Lawrenceville), Jackson(Lawrenceville), Anderson(Louisa) and Turner(Southampton). I am really trying to research the last name Turner in the Southampton County area of Virginia. Unfortunately it seems that was one of the top 5 last names of slave owners and I'm having a lot of challenges. Can anyone suggest anything? please feel free to email me.
