I think most are miss spelled words...the census takers were not the best spellers.
As for the name Odell, I have an Aunt who name is Odell....actually it is Myra, but she prefers Odell.
Actually, I can top all those unusual given names. While looking for my ex-husband's people in South Caroline, surname Ravenell...I found the name.... Penis.
