Re: WHY DO I SEARCH?
In Response To: WHY DO I SEARCH? ()
Cynthia: I feel you. Most of my relatives are simply not interested, a few are interested and another few admantly against it, can't even mention it to them. But, at my family reunion (1st)last week, most of them checked out the chart I had prepared and corrected spellings, added children's names, etc. My biggest reward thus far was when my 10 year old second cousin, whom I had seen as a baby only once before, came over and asked me what the numbers in from of the names meant. The next day, her aunt, my first cousin, told me they were up until the wee hours going over the genealogy report I had prepared that itemized dates, documented sources, census findings, notes on backgrounds of ancestors, etc. That cousin is very supportive of my efforts and we are both very pleased by her niece's avid interest in her heritage at such a young age. You go on, girl, there's one in your family too.
