Personally, I do it for the love of genealogy and my own personal growth. I speak to a lot of family members; some are interested, some are not. I cannot expect everyone to take an interest in my work. Nevertheless, I might bring up some trivia like ...'did you know you have a relative in this month's Ebony?' or 'do you know you had a relative in the Guinness Book of World Records?' This usually sparks some interest! Whatever, I am a wealth of knowledge for family information, whether some relative calls me for their kids class report or the written legacy that I will leave behind. After all, isnt all this about the legacies our ancestors have left behind and what we intend to leave behind to ours?
