1799: $20 Reward. Ran-away on Saturday night the 31st of August, from the subscriber living in Frederick county, Maryland, near Woodsborough town, a mulatto Lad, named DANIEL, about 20 years of age, between 5 and 6 feet high, blind in one eye, as well as I can recollect, the left eye---had on when he went away, a blue striped nankeen coat, with lappels, and a yellow spotted cassimer waistcoat, yellow nankeen overalls, half boots and hgih crowned fur hat, but it is likely he may change his clothes since he went away. He has been seen to have a Pass signed by the name of Dorsey, esquire, Frederick county. Whoever takes up said Runaway, and secures him in any gaol so that I get him again, shall receive the above reward, and if brought home all reasonable charges, paid by /s/John PHILLIPS. Sep. 13. N.B. His pass is said to be signed by Daniel DORSEY, Esq. of Frederick county, and colonel MC LAIN, Esq. of York county.
