Melvin, the same is true in my case. My Canady's are also known as Kennedy.Many of the Lea family are married into the Canady's.I have Henry Kennedy on the 1870 census Married to Mary. Children: Nancy, Major,Matilda, Allen,James, Rhoda or Rhodie,Mary, and Henry. They were from S.C.

There were also Kennedy's in Saline county, Ark. Another poster on this board stated that her Kennedy's were from Tn.Her Kennedy's are also named Canady.
