Hi Cynthia, I tried looking up Effie Caldwell on the 1880 census CD. You didn't say what census year you wanted information from. When would she have been 16?

Do you think Effie might be a nickname? I found this family in Monroe County, MS, with young daughter named Rosalee. They were the only Caldwells listed. Counldn't find an Effie or someone with similar name in Va.
