I have a great interest in African-Native American history, but have yet to find a very good resource about it. I heard that alot of Native Americans posed as colored or mulatto to keep from being sent to the reservations. Is that true? Especially Native Americans from the Creek, Cherokee, and Seminole nations. How could a person trace their Native American heritage with only hear say from family members? Once a person traces their heritage to a certain nation are Native Americans willing to accept African Americans with Native American heritage when most of them are very willing and all most eager to accept European Americans sometimes without proof.
