Hi Sandra, We really need to get in touch! I was messing around in the Newspapers at Ancestry since I've found a lot there that mention my family. I put in my grandmother's name and low and behold this is what I found: Daily Independent, Monessen, PA 12/22/1913
There's a whole lot more about the mock trial. I also found: Daily Independent, Monessen, PA 10/26/1915
I also found in the Daily Independent of 2/21/1903 mention of Miss Sara Pangburn of Elizabeth,PA who was giving a presentation and wanted to be an elocutionist. I found 167 hits in Monessen for Pangburn including Alex on a debate team and doing presentations at Wayman Chapel AME. The really exciting part is that it seems the Pangburns were members of Wayman Chapel when my great grandfather was the pastor and that the families were close. Well, I have 3 or four group photos from Monessen, including several in front of the church from the early 1900's. I am wondering if your Pangburns might be in the pictures, I don't believe they are marked. Anyway, email me your snail mail and I'll copy the pictures and send them to you to see if you recognize anyone. Talk to you soon, Lee
