Lloyd Smith's condition has improved somewhat. He is highly sedated in intensive care with two fractured ribs, one broken rib with internal bleeding which is being drained, and a brain contusion. No long-term brain damage is expected.

Lloyd was attempting to cut the limb off a tree with a chain saw when he fell.
