This is my take on it. I think if you want to retrieve a death certificate for a person who died after 1962 in Mississippi just for informational purposes, then it is disallowed. Genealogy purposes would be informational. However, if you need it for a business transaction (inheritance or any matter that a proof of death is needed), then they would probably issue a certified copy. But don't take my word for it though. This is just my belief.
