Hiya,

I'm glad folks like the site - I do too - and they are updating it as often as they can - they are going to make connections between Loudoun families in the slave period and bring it up to the present era.

What is most important to me is that this is a tool for teachers and students. Our children are our future and if they don't learn their history and understand their connections to history and ancestors, they will not begin to appreciate our struggles or our victories.

I hope that other members of Afrigeneas will join local committees and encourage other local groups to do something similar.
Though I live in upstate New York, my roots are in Loudoun, and I realized that even from a distance I could make a small contribution.
