I also found your web site very interesting, my gr grandfather Silas Woodruff was a coal miner in Pennsylvania around the 1920's he was also listed as a farmer.

I also found grandpa Silas WW1 draft card he was in his 40's at the time, i've never seen his picture but it described him as tall and thin with a finger missing on his left hand.
