For years, I have heard that on both sides of my family Cherokee, Creek, Choctaw, Chickasaw or Seminole blood runs through their viens. So I decided to put this to rest by having some DNAs done or to prove from whence we came. Well, today I received the results from the first one which is for a 103 year old relative living in Alabama. The results states she has a unique sequence sharing a mutation at np 16153 that has previously been reported only in the U.S. Southeast region among the Creek and Chickasaw. Her sequence is two mutation steps away from these sequences, also the frequency of haplogroup B in North America. My question is,where do I go from here.
