alt: there should be Guardianship Papers filed, if the guy wants to be released from that role.

daviss: right and then knowing where he fled to

alt: yep

daviss: I would assume working backwards got her to that point

alt: sometimes I think folks aren't really asking for help, but just want to let us know what "papers" they have collected on their ancestors.... there's that suspicious/doubting mind of mine at work.

alt: yep Selma

daviss: but how are we to know that is the intent alt. I would hate spending my time and nerves looking for something they already know

vkn: well some person is trying to do fundraising from here for their new website. Folks do have nerve !!!!!

alt: I don't know if we ever know one's "agenda" daviss

Selma: I saw that too vkn.. LOL

vkn: Boy!!!!!

Selma: I think David...could give that person a better idea on where she can locate the document It is probably on microfilm

vkn: lol lol

alt: yep vkn.... I was shocked when I first read the posting and even more so when I read about the "agency" on their website.

Selma: I didn't go the the link..what is the agency

alt: my suspicious mind again.... do yo think the donors listed are, could be, a 'setup"?

vkn: Some brass a.. nerve

alt: they have a title and are listed as a non-profit Selma and are asking for donations/seed money.

Khathu: Hello everyone

Seventies: Hello Khathu!

vkn: Howdy Khathu

daviss: Is that the one where the hrs were shortened vkn? Hello Khathu

HistoryBuff: Hey Khathu

vkn: Yes but now that is over daviss

Khathu: Question - Has anyone been successful with defining or confirming the relationship on 23andMe relative finder?

daviss: ok vkn, good to here that

vkn: Gov signed bill yesterday

daviss: Yes on the top of my head Mel Collier is one

Selma: Yes..daviss..think he wrote about it on his Blog

Seventies: Nope, not as of yet. Time and distance.

daviss: I know of one other person who has confirmed one and durn near close on another I am sure there are more but requires having ducks in a row research wise

Khathu: I have been working on trying to determine the relationship with one individual in which the percentage is .86% and possible connection is 3rd cousin. and 4 segments

daviss: That is a good piece khathu

Seventies: ok how many segments Khathu?

Khathu: I am trying to figure out the best strategy for tackling this project 4 segments

Seventies: hhmmmm

Khathu: 3rd cousins share which common ancestor(s) gg grandparent or ggg grandparent? I have been working on this off and on for over a year now

daviss: I do know that the lady that is working on her 2nd match all are connected via email and conference calls in a group

Khathu: Okay

daviss: I also know that none of them walked in empty handed, they all had something to work with as far as records, etc

vkn: Conference calls sounds good

daviss: that made it easier

Khathu: She did share her family tree with me

Seventies: brb

daviss: If I remember correctly one of them had a family bible filled with info

Khathu: 3rd cousins share the same gg grandparent, right? The family is out of Tennessee and until recently I did not have or discovered any roots there.

daviss: kathu do you want me to send you the relationship chart I use khathu

Khathu: Earlier this year I discovered a gg grandmother Maria Ann Shott whose place of birth is listed as TN in the 1870 Census I would greatly appreciate it daviss...thanks

daviss: no problem

Selma: this Maria Ann..the person you both think you share?

Khathu: Since all of their research is in TN, I am thinking so

daviss: You should have it by now Khathu Does she have that Surname in her line Khathu

Khathu: Thanks daviss

daviss: YW

Khathu: No...

Seventies: Any age on Maria in 1870??

daviss: Shott is an odd name isn't it?

Khathu: She is 28 y/o There were only two households of Shotts in Van Zandt Co., TX in 1870

daviss: Oh Khathu do you have any Williams in Leon County?

Khathu: Yes, I do My ggg grandfather (Andy Perkins) had an outside family and all of the children went under the surname Williams I have a meeting to run off to.ttyl

daviss: hmmm I guess its my turn lol gonna go look in Mother Hubbards Cupboard
