daviss: I am hoping I won't have a bumpy ride today
Seventies Soulchild: hi alt and daviss
alt: me too...but hold on to your seat just in case.
daviss: hi Seventies Soulchild!
Seventies Soulchild: fair de middlin' what is that? lol
alt: Hey Ms. Seventies Soulchild .. how you doing today?
Seventies Soulchild: Doing well. Are you taking care of yourself Mr. Thomas?
alt: yes i am Seventies Soulchild. thank you for asking.
Seventies Soulchild: ok good, I thought I was going to have to get on your case like I get on daviss' case.. lol
alt: oh no, I know how to behave LOL LOL
Seventies Soulchild: lol
daviss: brb gotta turn off the ceiling fan.. its cold
alt: looking thru some old photos .. put one up on Facbook of the kids and me taken 47 years ago on Easter Sunday.. What a difference a day & 75 lbs make. LOL lOL
daviss: whew ok back oh I gotta check that out alt you were a handsome cad alt!
alt: thank you ma'am.... he said while blushing LOL
daviss: I love looking at pictures and a nice video you put together SS
Seventies Soulchild: Thank you daviss
daviss: thanks for the sneak peak
Seventies Soulchild: no problem
daviss: When will it roll out
Seventies Soulchild: Not sure, need approval from the family. Trying to professionalize the reunion based on some of the responses from my survey. Going to present my findings and suggestions in the summer.
daviss: How many on the approval board
Seventies Soulchild: Well, its just the family that lives in MS who do the reunion stuff. Numbers change each year. Also working on how to make it more affordable to get to MS or Baton Rouge These are the things they should've been doing to get more people to come. Also looking at hotels in the area.
daviss: and when is the reunion?
Seventies Soulchild: July 2013 Also looked up newspapers to advertise in.
daviss: oh ok
Seventies Soulchild: There is still time.. all the things in the video we do every time we come to MS My cousin Mickey does a mean BBQ
daviss: How many days do you all celebrate
Seventies Soulchild: usually a weekend. Friday night through Sunday afternoon. But since next year the 4th is on a weekend day, people may be able to come early.
daviss: ok we do too after Church
Seventies Soulchild: Also, we have a creek, Second Creek, that runs thorugh the property and my cousin fixed up a 4 wheeler track down by the sandbar.. lots of great outdoor stuff to do there. And there is zero cost to do it.
daviss: sounds good
Seventies Soulchild: Having reunions there keeps the costs very low. I also looked at newspapers who may be willing to run articles on the reunion... I chose the Chicago Defender, The Bluff City Post and the Natchez Democrat
daviss: are those the places with the most of your Washington Rounds
Seventies Soulchild: Yes. And Rounds mostly Rounds.
alt: will the articles run before the reunion, after the reunion, or both?
Seventies Soulchild: I would like both times, alt. But again these are only my ideas. Hoping that the family will say ok. We have a whole lot of relatives out there, mainly on the Rounds side... its time we get together.
alt: I ask because when we had our 90th Adams reunion the newpspaer would only report in the newspaper AFTER the event took place... otherise it was just a notice of the event or doing a paid advertisement.
daviss: what program is easier to use Family Tree or Roots Magic (on phone)
Seventies Soulchild: Roots magic lol
alt: RM for me .. or an earlier version of FTM like their V16.
daviss: thx
alt: oh, Oops you said Family Tree.. never used it before.
daviss: I thought you had used it alt is FTM the same thing
alt: FTM, but not just 'Family Tree"
daviss: oh ok
alt: dunno, but I think they are different programs daviss
daviss: ok I just told them Roots Magic lol
