alt: Hi Daviss.. how goes it?
AYWalton: but that's life!
Daviss: its going alt, how about you?

Seventies Soulchild: oh Daviss pour me up a cup please...
Daviss: you got it seventies lol

Daviss: I see AYWalton that you are still on the prowl for your daddy
AYWalton: that is a tough one, Daviss.
Seventies Soulchild: Hi bbenn
AYWalton: Giving it a bit of a rest.
alt: hi bbenn.. how goes it?
AYWalton: too exhausting!
Daviss: hello bbenn
AYWalton: greetings, bbenn. Are you at the LDS today?
bbenn: Helloooo Everyone!:} yes, I am here for 1 minute and will head to the Archives for the volunteer appreciation event.
AYWalton: oh that's wonderful!!!! and a great day for it, as well! Beautiful weather!
bbenn: Thanks
Daviss: cool bbenn!
bbenn: My guest on Thursday will share new findings on Dred Scott that has not been revealed before....
alt: wonderful bbenn
Daviss: oh how interesting bbenn
Seventies Soulchild: That should be interesting bbenn
AYWalton: I am truly looking forward to that show! have new things been found since Ruth Hager's book?
bbenn: ALT, Thanks for posting the info on AfriGeneas...
alt: Dred Scott decision was a part of the Missouri compromise and the 1850 fugitive Slave Act , right?
bbenn: Yes, I think that this is the information she received in February from the Archives.
alt: yw bbenn
AYWalton: ahhh she received something new? How exciting!!!
Daviss: brb
bbenn: Very exciting! I cannot wait... bye...got to run
AYWalton: Looking forward to hearing what has been learned!
Daviss: I posted a picture on my facebook page the other day of my half sisters grandfather WE Banks and WEB Dubois
Seventies Soulchild: me too. I'm sure that there is more information than what has been published in school books.
AYWalton: I must have missed it Daviss! Going to look right now!
Daviss: That was one picture they did not have
Seventies Soulchild: I have a quick question for those who may know. Have Precious Photos been moved over to the Afrigeneas Facebook page?
alt: me too Daviss
AYWalton: on your FB page?
Daviss: yes AYWalton
AYWalton: in which album?
alt: I don't think so Seventies Soulchild... I think AfriGeneas is trying to promote Precious Photos and also add photos to the Facebook scene at the same time.
AYWalton: I don't think so, SoulChile, but you will have to ask vkn to be sure.
Daviss: Its right on the front AYWalton
Seventies Soulchild: I saw some on there today while browsing
AYWalton: I know that several people have asked me about Precious Photos and how to get them uploaded. Daviss, all I see is your profile page in red, and then lots of albums, and your posts.
Daviss: it should be there under Taylors Stars pic from last night scroll down
Seventies Soulchild: This is why I'm asking.
Daviss: No idea seventies I saw that also
AYWalton: a question for vkn who can probably give the right information.
Seventies Soulchild: I'm going to submit my photos. Submit them there.
Daviss: AYWalton, do you see the caption DeBois entertained
alt: tro Facebook or Precious Photos? or both?
Seventies Soulchild: Facebook. I have given up on the Precious Photos on Afrigeneas website
alt: Hello jtl3149
Daviss: hello jtl3149!! i did not see you come in? How are you
AYWalton: Daviss, all I see are a few photos---one of your granddaughter in the fashion show, and Irene Cara, and the cell phone cartoon (which was too cute!) and a man from Trayvon's family with tears in his eyes, and some folks for Easter. howdy jtl3149
Daviss: look to the right of Irene Cara
Seventies Soulchild: hello jtl3149
jtl3149: Good afternoon. I am trying to find out the meaning of surnames.
Daviss: Its just opposite of Cara's picture AYWalton...
alt: meaning??? how/where they originate form?
Seventies Soulchild: What surnames jtl3149?
Daviss: What surname is that jtl3149?
AYWalton: I have the old interface back so there is no "opposite" for me, Daviss.
jtl3149: Gaddy, Hammond and Tillman
AYWalton: Can't see the photo you mentioned.
Daviss: I will send it to you via email then AYWalton
AYWalton: oh thanks, Daviss!
Seventies Soulchild: Whenever I have questions about the origins of surnames, I use google. Always get an answer.
alt: You have a location and a timeframe for those surnames jtl3149?
Seventies Soulchild: On Gaddy/Geddie/Gaddie in the U.S. http://www.afn.org/~afn03098/Gaddy.html
jtl3149: Anson County, Wadesboro, NC 1700's, 1800's & 1900's
Daviss: you should have it now AYWalton
AYWalton: thanks, Daviss!
Daviss: What is the surname jtl3149
Seventies Soulchild: Ok with the exception of a few surnames, most of the names you're referring to come from Europeans.
AYWalton: a wonderful photo, Daviss! where did that appear? I think Gaddy is Irish in origin.
Daviss: Dubose was a guest at PrarieView
AYWalton: Ooops, looks like Gaddy might be Scottish. there is probably a Gaddy plaid.
Daviss: Is Gaddy the surname, I am lost
jtl3149: The names I listed are surnames. I will check into the site given by Seventies Soulchild. Thanks.
alt: If these are all in NC jtl3149 .... when does each first appear in census records and does the birth location give you any clues as to non-american origns?
AYWalton: Daviss you still chasing down 1940 census folks?
Seventies Soulchild: yes all of the names listed have their own sites with their family crests.
AYWalton: I am trying not to strain my eyes.
jtl3149: The names all appear in the first census taken in NC
Daviss: well AyWalton a bit here and there.. I am about to throw in the towel for all the census for a couple of days
alt: and that would be the 1790 census???
Seventies Soulchild: If you have a name like Mozingo or Shalongo I'd be interested.
jtl3149: yes 1790
AYWalton: although family's actually don't get crests---they are given to individuals. Family Crest sites are actually money making ventures to trick folks into thinking that they have found a family logo. They are popular, though. I think that there was a 1790 for NC. It was one of the original 13 colonies.
Daviss: Did your Tillmans venture to Ala and or Okla jtl3149?
Seventies Soulchild: Yes today they money making ventures. but the idea and practice of family crests is real.
jtl3149: Most of them stayed in NC. I have traced all three family surnames to Anson County, NC
AYWalton: although they have no historic connotation---people think that they do and they often use crests of someone who might have their surname, who received it, and use it as a "family" crest.
Seventies Soulchild: The pages do offer actual good information, origins and history about surnames.
AYWalton: I say create your own family logo ---if there is an artist in the family.
Seventies Soulchild: I think we are talking about two different things. Hello vkn
AYWalton: Greetings, vkn.
Daviss: hello vkn!
alt: hello vkn... how "be's" ya?
vkn: Howdy alt AYW Daviss jt seventies Good to see all and welcome jt

vkn: Indeed she was an inspiration alt She was in a nursing home and never made the adjustment to being there
Daviss: I can imagine vkn..
alt: I can see how that would 'slow her down".
yatah: how i can find luther quiller record if he married or not ga
