vkn: Did y'all hide the eggs coming from a Rabbit yet

AYWalton: glad to find them. lol, no egg hiding, vkn! I remember as a child dyeing eggs for Easter.

Daviss: I hear ya AYWalton!! now to find pops

AYWalton: and having colored boiled eggs all week. yes, still looking for dad and grandparents. They are there, somewhere!

vkn: Wonderful AYW were that group of Bass in hiding or where you expected them to be

AYWalton: yes, but there were three sections with the township---and I had to land on the right one.

AYWalton: But once Ancestry got the states uploaded, I could look at full pages at a glance, so that made it faster. wow Daviss---they still dye eggs huh?

vkn: They are mighty large pages

AYWalton: they are way too large, and now with Ancestry, it's a breeze!

Daviss: Yes, I like Ancestry best

AYWalton: so I don't have to use the Archives.gov site anymore.

vkn: We will end up with two versions

Daviss: I have hit enter so much my wrist is sore

Daviss: I think seventies went somewhere for a few I wish for a change they would index Texas at least 3rd lol

AYWalton: I actually no nothing about the consortium. It sounds interesting, though. no = know (I must be tired---I do know the difference between no and know---just tired.) lol

vkn: Is it ancestry where the images are a dark grey and it takes much time to adjust the jpg Yes BUT my mom had me listed as La Verne

AYWalton: the ancestry images I am looking at are quite sharp and clear! wow. where is the column where it tells who provided the information to the enumerator?

vkn: In the 1930 she listed me as Lavencia go figure lol

Daviss: speaking of that my cousin is listed as verna dean in the 40 census and also in that church log book. She is called Bernadine

AYWalton: and what did she call you?

AYWalton: how are you doing tonight Selma? Playing with the census yet?

Selma: No not yet..my mom and sister just got here this evening..

AYWalton: ahh you will have company for Easter. Are you cooking as well?

Selma: Hoping my mom will remember where she was living at the time Yep..I am cooking..unless I change my mind by tomorrow and we all go to Golden Corral

Daviss: I love Golden Corral lol

AYWalton: lol that's too funny! what's on the menu?

Selma: I went and bought some Easter candy today for my grands..when did Easter get to be a holiday where kids get gifts along with the Jelly Beans

AYWalton: that is not my era.

Seventies Soulchild: ok I'm back... lol Golden Corral is good Selma... :}

AYWalton: We got an Easter outfit, and got to dye Easter eggs.

Selma: Me too

Daviss: lol we had boiled eggs and jelly beans

AYWalton: that was it for us growing up.

Seventies Soulchild: We had some eggs and jellybeans too.. that was all.

vkn: decorated boiled eggs for us

AYWalton: sometimes jelly beans in that plastic green fake grass---but that was all in addition to a new dress with a krinlin (sp?) slip, that we called can-can and scratched like the dickens.

Selma: That was a big thing dying the eggs

AYWalton: but it made the dress puff out ever so nicely, thank you.

Daviss: lol AYWalton

vkn: oh yes and a hollow chocalate bunny

Seventies Soulchild: I hwve to share this, its kind of funny. My nephew is about 2 1/2. So he doesn't talk very well yet. I sat down at the table to give him a piece of chicken he asked for and I decided to eat a piece of pie I bought... this child, not missing a beat looks over and as clear as day asks me "Is that pie?" LOL LOL LOL

Daviss: lol seventies kids are so smart these dsys

AYWalton: sounds like a smart child!

Seventies Soulchild: You know I laughed. Anyway, I remember one easter in the mid-80's where we had a major snow storm and I went to church in boots, winter coat, wool stockings and an spring easter dress.

AYWalton: I am sure that you did take it off so folks could see that outfit, too, huh SoulChile

Seventies Soulchild: yes I was so mad that it snowed that day! LOL

Selma: LOL

Daviss: my fav color was yellow no pink for me lol

AYWalton: If you went to the trouble to get there, I KNOW you made sure folks saw it!

Seventies Soulchild: My son is asleep himself with my nephew... its so quiet... lol

Seventies Soulchild: I am going to run and lay him down. Y'all have a happy easter. Daviss hope you enjoyed the Soul Train marathon. The Feast of All Saints is showing I think on BET right now. Its the historical docu-drama... very interesting.
