Seventies Soulchild: ditto on that sentiment alt I tell you what I'm so glad that we don't do the Christmas thing anymore... The news on black friday terror is INSANE.
HistoryBuff: I'm grateful my children are make wise positive choices in their lives. There's a niece who sounds as though she is exhibiting the signs of substance abuse. She's been abandoning husband and baby child.
Seventies Soulchild: oh no. . . hi Selma
Daviss: Hello Selma!
Selma: Good Day After Thanksgiving good folks
alt: Hello Selma... are ya full of it?
HistoryBuff: I concur Black Friday and Impatient Thursday are insane days this year. Happy Holidays to you Selma
Seventies Soulchild: One man was shot, one woman pepper sprayed a crowd of people for a video game console... all in California all at Wal Mart
Selma: Yes I am alt, full of Stuffing, Candied sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese, turkey, the works
Seventies Soulchild: Yum!
HistoryBuff: I heard about that craziness on the news, Seventies.
alt: sounds like you had a 'winner' of a day Selma.
Seventies Soulchild: And don't forget the Ambrosia and pound cakes
Selma: Had dinner who invited my self and my son's & family to dinner, we gratefully accepted and had a great time
HistoryBuff: Sweet potates and sweet potatoes pies came out of the woodwork.
Selma: Had dinner with a cousin and his wife and famlly who invited us
AYWalton: Good afternoon, all.
Daviss: Hello AYWalton!!
Seventies Soulchild: Nice... We had dinner with my cousins who is also my sons godparents Hi AYWalton
alt: I heard a great story yesterday.... John Legend flew his immediate family out to CA to be together for T-Day.... Mom/Dad, Bro. & wives & their kids.
HistoryBuff: A niece did bring a red velvt cake for her grandmother. Good afternoon, AYWalton!
AYWalton: howdy alt, Daviss, HistoryBuff, Ms. Selma, hey there SoulChile!

HistoryBuff: I'm sure you could use the rest. AY.
AYWalton: oh yes, indeed!
Seventies Soulchild: It must be good to have it like that. :-)
AYWalton: My feet are enjoying not standing up at the stove in the kitchen cooking.
Seventies Soulchild:
Look we were supposed to have fried Turkey last night for and the fryer caught on fire! LOL
Daviss: Selma did you bring a turkey sammich home to eat later :?
HistoryBuff: lol
AYWalton: oh gracious, SoulChile!
Selma: No Daviss...there were so many of us we just about killed the turkey.. LOL..but she did send us home with all the other stuff...
AYWalton: I hope nobody was hurt!
HistoryBuff: Oh no.
alt: I think C-Span3 is re-running the Ft. Monroe/contraband story today.. it was on here earlier this morning.
AYWalton: I have never been excited about the turkey fryer thing. I have heard about fired.
Seventies Soulchild: No it was out in the middle of the yard.... but the flame was high... freaked some of the family out.
AYWalton: glad it was not near the house and that no one was hurt.
Seventies Soulchild: Then also, it was peanut oil so that fire had to be hot...
Daviss: we have an electric turkey fryer
Selma: We had at least local reports on our TV stations last week, about exactly how to fry the turkey..cause so many folks burn down their houses
AYWalton: Was the meal affected by the fire?
Seventies Soulchild: No, there was a smoked turkey... food was delicious
AYWalton: Which is why I am afraid of them. Turkey fryers and pressure cookers are out of my league. that's good, SoulChile.
HistoryBuff: Oh wow AYWalton.
AYWalton: I stick to the stove and the oven---two devices I understand.
Seventies Soulchild: Yes we had those on TV all the time as well. First thing, never put the fryer in an enclosed space or next to your house I cooked a turkey breast and sides here for the next couple of days to eat on.
Daviss: I watched a channel 8 movie last night on the role of the Indian in the movies and how that got started. It was very interesting
HistoryBuff: Which station is your Channel 8, Daviss?

Seventies Soulchild: Movies are a very powerful form of medica media
HistoryBuff: Oh okay thanks, Daviss. I look forward to looking into that story. Yes they are indeed, Seventies.

AYWalton: thankfully I did not watch any TV yesterday at all. First I was too busy, then later I was too tired.
Daviss: kids claimed I only cut up onions lol
alt: yw HistoryBuff, I think the professor does a great job of explaining the role of the tree guys who went to Gen. Butler and started the Contraband issue.
Seventies Soulchild: LOL I believe it Daviss!
AYWalton: Did they talk about what happened to the three guys? Townsend, Baker and Mallory. I often wonder what happened to them and/or their families after the war. I hope they did survive the war, but have never found them in Ancestry. And I have looked for them.
alt: I saw where they said you were AWOL when it came to 'da cooking' Daviss
HistoryBuff: Yes, I learned that story in docent training. I love being able to acquire this history in writing. wb Daviss.
AYWalton: Well, I better run, folks. Have a great day everyone.
