Daviss: I saw that alt Did anyone see the Gabby Giffords interview on 20/20
vkn: Seventies did you want admin to delete the one post that you did not like?
Seventies Soulchild: no
AYWalton: I did not see it, Daviss. Anything interesting?
Daviss: strong woman
vkn: It was quite moving though a tad intrusive
Seventies Soulchild: Someone was saying that they were in tears...
alt: I didn't Daviss, yes, she is to be admired for her strength.
Daviss: very moving
AYWalton: I was following the tragic Penn State case. So many of the victims apparently were young black boys. (this is not yet widely known.)
vkn: My goodness ayw
Seventies Soulchild: Really? I thought that was one of the first things that was put out there I know I've read it online.
vkn: The old boys network can play and prey
alt: that surprised me AYWalton, considering the 'lack' of Blacks in the area where he was holding his camps for kids.
AYWalton: it is not widely known by most who follow the story on televised news.
Seventies Soulchild: Isn't Penn is Philly? There is not a shortage of black children or people in the area.
vkn: It said disadvantaged translates to Black
Seventies Soulchild: What they do is go into these cities and get kids for these programs.
alt: Oh no College Park is not near Philly.
AYWalton: one of their offices is in King of Prussia PA, just outside of Philly.
alt: it is in the Boonies on I-80
AYWalton: I was surprised to see the free reign---this guy could walk into a school and pull a child out of the classroom and even out of the school---without a parent even knowing about it.
alt: Penn State Univ
Seventies Soulchild: smh its a d@mn shame that this is going on. AND there was a prosecutor who went missing when he was going to investigate this back in 2001
AYWalton: What kind of power is that? and why? how?
alt: unsupervised "Football" power AYWalton
AYWalton: I read the details about the janitor--he was so shaken by what he saw, and his health suffered from it. you are right alt. it shows something really really horrible and really really big out there.
vkn: Seventies I thought the Fed man was found dead ?
AYWalton: the power of money allows certain people freedom to prey as much as they wish to.
Seventies Soulchild: No... he was declared dead vkn because he's been missing for 7 yrs Funny thing is I saw his case on ID channel.
alt: can you think of a better place for a pedophile to operate than a camp for boys?
AYWalton: interesting how some mean of means have an interest in children's charities, or "helping children" as a means of access.
alt: or for girls
Seventies Soulchild: well most of these people doing this are of what ethnicity? Just sayin'
AYWalton: parks, camps, amusement parks, it is always something to lure children. and if they are wealthy--and the victims are poor---they can get away with it for years.
Seventies Soulchild: And apparently the judge who gave this guy bail was a volunteer or supporter of this camp.
vkn: Had a great experience with AT&T last evening. They were able to manage a network issue by remotely sigining on to my computer. Worked beautifully
alt: Seventies Soulchild, just finished reading a book on incest & sexual abuse in the Black family...
Seventies Soulchild: SMH What was it called?
vkn: "The Children of Sanchez" ?
alt: Teddy Bear: Stolen Innocence by Loren C. Due PhD... my nephew
vkn: "Leroy Nem" >
Seventies Soulchild: ah interesting.
AYWalton: I thought that was a song by Chuck Mangione.
vkn: Oh really alt send me a link
AYWalton: sounds like something sad to read, alt.
alt: It is AYWalton, very sad.

vkn: Alt what is the source of research for Dr. Due alt
Seventies Soulchild: Sounds like from what I'm looking at here online. http://www.incestinblackamerica.com/book.html
alt: he has a couple of pages of resources in the back of his book vkn.
vkn: okies
alt: yes Seventies Soulchild . that is the link to his book.
Daviss: your neph alt?
Seventies Soulchild: I wonder what he had to say about Eddie Long...
vkn: The Autauga Genealogical Society will meet Sunday, Nov. 20, at First Baptist Church in downtown Prattville. Professor Ronald Fritze of Athens State University will speak on The Hernando de Soto Expedition: Exploration and Tragedy in 16th Century Alabama and the Southeast. Hernando de Soto's expedition (1539-1543) was the first to explore extensively the interior of the eastern part of North America. It spent a substantial amount of time in what is now Alabama, where there are many places associated with De Soto's expedition. The Southeast on the eve of European contact contained the most culturally sophisticated Native American societies in Northern America. His expedition explored most of the Southeast following a much-debated route. It experienced problems with the Native Americans, spread devastating diseases, and failed to find treasure. De Soto died in 1542 during the course of the expedition, which Luis de Moscoso brought back to Mexico during 1543.
