jhonora: AY, I have been reading about the Mosaic Templars since I saw your session title, very interesting.
Khathu: according to oral history, they were raised by a white family. unfortunately the name of the white family was not passed down

AYWalton: sort of. Still tired, but I got some sleep last night. slept late for 2 days in a row. lol Jhonora the Mosaic templars are everywhere.

AYWalton: and the other groups---some are quite amazing. Like the Royal Circle of Friends.
jhonora: I really enjoy our negro societies, just wish they left more minutes, etc.

AYWalton: I don't try to get the records----many don't exist---but there are other ways to get the fascinating histories.
jhonora: Yes, the charters and newspaper mentions yield a lot of info
AYWalton: and several of the groups have fascinating histories which can be found online. Oh don't forget the webinar for ProfessorDru. that is tomorrow at 2pm if you have time.

vknGA: Went to a book signing "The Accidental Slaveowner" by Mark Auslander about a slave owning bishop and the role of the Methodist church and Emory University in fostering slavery
