Ingrid_Doweary: Visited the A-Am Heritage Trails Database review historic landmarks. I noticed the address for the Dr. Alain L. Locke residence and realized the address looked familiar. A Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity chapter had possession of the bldg. when I last vistited there. I located a 1930 Wash., DC census record to discover Dr. Alain Locke was listed as the head of the house at that address-1326 R Street, NW. I have visited this address about 3Xs. I was inducted into the Sigma Sweetheart Court a former residence of Dr. Alain L. Locke, Rhodes Scholar, Editor of The New Negro, Professor of History and Philosophy, inspiration for the Black Renaissance, Harlem and nationally.

Ingrid_Doweary: The thing that gets me is I did not know at the time it was a historic bldg. A local university Sigma arrived where I work and I asked him if he was familiar with the address and if one of the grad chapters still has possession. When I realized he didn't know of the historic significance , I printed a copy of the census record, showed him and gave it to him as a souvenir.

3rdthawkins: So I decided just this past week to look more into that census, I searched for Susie Jones' marriage Rec (AR), and discovered her maiden name was Isely, her name as transcribed as Islil but on the rec it was Islie...........so I realized she was the same as Hannah and Alex's oldest daugher Sousan

vicky: Cilla may be short for Pricilla also 3rd

3rdthawkins: yes vicky, it is, Priscilla had married John Cash in TX but apparently after their Divorce, she moved back to AR

3rdthawkins: there's two Priscilla's and both go by Cilla/Silla but anways Ingrid_Doweary............Sally was listed as grandmother of Susie and Cilla, so I realized, susie and cilla being sisters, that Sally was the mother of Hannah Williamson

3rdthawkins: And that my mother's uncle (grandmother's half-brother) was living in two different places in 1930 he was Lawerence Johnson when living with his mother and stepfather.....and Lawrence Master (his real last name) when he was living with Priscilla/Cilla
