alt: I reckon so 3rdthawkins

vicky: Is that price for one or for two alt?

3rdthawkins: Sit out on the corner, put on some sunglasses and start playing the guitar or something lol

alt: your mystery Ingrid? and the solution?

Ingrid_Doweary: Visited the A-Am Heritage Trails Database review historic landmarks. I noticed the address for the Dr. Alain L. Locke residence and realized the address looked familiar. A Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity chapter had possession of the bldg. when I last vistited there. I located a 1930 Wash., DC census record to discover Dr. Alain Locke was listed as the head of the house at that address-1326 R Street, NW. I have visited this address about 3Xs. I was inducted into the Sigma Sweetheart Court a former residence of Dr. Alain L. Locke, Rhodes Scholar, Editor of The New Negro, Professor of History and Philosophy, inspiration for the Black Renaissance, Harlem and nationally.

alt: ah,,, so you have a personal connection to the address/bldg.... wonderful

Ingrid_Doweary: The thing that gets me is I did not know at the time it was a historic bldg. A local university Sigma arrived where I work and I asked him if he was familiar with the address and if one of the grad chapters still has possession. When I realized he didn't know of the historic significance , I printed a copy of the census record, showed him and gave it to him as a souvenir.

vicky: interesting Ingrid. Are you going to get a copy of the deed for your records

alt: Good move Ingrid_Doweary

Ingrid_Doweary: sovenir=souvenir. That's enough from me. I'll look for the deed, property transfer record and city directory.

parkin24: That is so weird. Why would the historic significance of that bldg not be shared with the public? Is there a historic designation plaque on the outside of the bldg?

Selma: A good teachable moment..

Ingrid_Doweary: Indeed, Selma

alt: for sure Selma.... Was Dr. Locke a Sigma Ingrid_Doweary, or do you know?

Ingrid_Doweary: Yes I know, Alt. I'm now a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. I'm going to take a personal trip to get a photo of the historic marker.

alt: okay Ingrid

Ingrid_Doweary: Sorry, alt I misinterpreted your question. Yes, Dr. Locke was a distinguished Sigma member.

alt: wonderful connections Ingrid_Doweary

Ingrid_Doweary: Yes, I've come down off of Cloud 9 now. lol

parkin24: Have a nice trip to get your photo, Ingrid_Doweary

Selma: I gotta run too folks...have a great day

alt: people aren't staying in chat very long these days

Ingrid_Doweary: I guess the tourist season is kicking up, Alt.

alt: I guess Ingrid_Doweary

Ingrid_Doweary: I'm home from work early because the carpet is being shampooed at work and I have multichemical sensitivities. What's new with you, 3rd?

Seventies Soulchild: hey! What happened to the chatters?

3rdthawkins: through some researching, I was able to find my grgrgr grandmother Hannah Williamson's mother

alt: folks be splittin' early 3rdthawkins Oops Seventies Soulchild

Seventies Soulchild: lol I see that. I was gone for like 20 mins!

alt: ah, Ms vicky's back

Ingrid_Doweary: How did you succeed in accomplishing that 3rd? WB Ms. Vicky.

3rdthawkins: Well Ingrid................

Seventies Soulchild: ms vicky

vicky: frozen puter again..I had to reboot

Seventies Soulchild: It is incredibly hot here today... can't get enough to drink

Ingrid_Doweary: lol Hehehehe Yea, It's 88 degrees here in DC.

3rdthawkins: Previously I had seen a Cilla Cash in 1930 census, living with some Jones relatives and a Lawrence Master

Seventies Soulchild: And our air conditioning is non existent

3rdthawkins: Ingrid, and also Cilla was living with a Sally Fontaine in 1920, but Sally was living with a Susie Jones in 1900 and 1910.........and a few doors down from Hannah and Alex Isley in 1880

Ingrid_Doweary: Casj. Jones and Master are the surnames? I feel you, 70s.

Seventies Soulchild: I shouldn't complain I'll probably lose some weight... lol

Ingrid_Doweary: lol, Seventies.

Seventies Soulchild: I'm on my third Vitamin Water. . .

3rdthawkins: So I decided just this past week to look more into that census, I searched for Susie Jones' marriage Rec (AR), and discovered her maiden name was Isely, her name as transcribed as Islil but on the rec it was Islie...........so I realized she was the same as Hannah and Alex's oldest daugher Sousan

vicky: Cilla may be short for Pricilla also 3rd

3rdthawkins: yes vicky, it is, Priscilla had married John Cash in TX but apparently after their Divorce, she moved back to AR

vicky: ok

3rdthawkins: there's two Priscilla's and both go by Cilla/Silla but anways Ingrid_Doweary............Sally was listed as grandmother of Susie and Cilla, so I realized, susie and cilla being sisters, that Sally was the mother of Hannah Williamson

Ingrid_Doweary: What an adverture those various spellings will take you.

3rdthawkins: And that my mother's uncle (grandmother's half-brother) was living in two different places in 1930 he was Lawerence Johnson when living with his mother and stepfather.....and Lawrence Master (his real last name) when he was living with Priscilla/Cilla

Seventies Soulchild: They sure do Ingrid_Doweary brb going to get another drink...

3rdthawkins: I've always seen that record, but wasn't sure, she he was already located

Ingrid_Doweary: Wow, Good detective work 3rd.

3rdthawkins: since

Ingrid_Doweary: You are definitely on the hunt.

vicky: quick question alt and others..There is a pop up mailware that came up on my granddaughters laptop. I cant figure out how to get it of. any suggestions (easy)

3rdthawkins: I'm thinking, perhaps, Hannah may have been the daughter of a Williamson slave owner.....I'm still suggesting Thomas Williamson, he was born in South Carolina and was a SO in Alabama before relocating to AR........Sally Fontaine was listed as born in S.C in some census and Ala in others

alt: scared of mailware vicky

3rdthawkins: SO-slave owner

vicky: I know.

3rdthawkins: yeah, don't know about that, seem like a virus,

Seventies Soulchild: Do you have anti-virus, anti-malware software? Also if you have a firewall, turn it on

vicky: I know she has anti virus and I ran that last night but its still there

3rdthawkins: I think anti virus on detects it, I don't know if it takes it off once it's on there

alt: can't help you there vicky, sorry

3rdthawkins: on-only

Seventies Soulchild: Go to the website for your anti-virus software provider.

vicky: thanks alt

Seventies Soulchild: it should be able to quarantine it.

vicky: thx 7

Seventies Soulchild: darn hackers!

vicky: they should be down there cleaning up oil doing good instead of harm

3rdthawkins: yeah, you're right Seventies

Ingrid_Doweary: Yes, this is the season viruses are activated on mas.

vicky: grand just started her online classes and here it comes. tees me off

Seventies Soulchild: I hope it didn't come from the university's systems But I wouldn't be surprised.

vicky: no, it just came up about a day before she signed on oh well

Ingrid_Doweary: Oh I forget to tell you Alt. I did buy and dwnld the RootsMagic app. Created 3dBs already.

alt: how is it going so far Ingrid_Doweary?

Professordru: ya'll still here. lol

vicky: hi Dru!

3rdthawkins: hello Pro Dru
