AYWalton: I see that George Geder wrote an interesting review of the Afr. American Quick Sheet by M. Hait.

AYWalton: this is a review of the 4 page laminated sheet that came out earlier this year.

alt: okay, I haven't read Geder's review yet.

daviss: 4 page whats he selling it for may I ask

AYWalton: his last sentence sums it up: "If you have spent any time in African American genealogical research... ....you may already know everything contained in this quick sheet."

Selma: Great posting by Tim Pinnick..on Genealogy & History Forum

AYWalton: He does state that for professionals who have never done Afr. American research, it might be useful just to know what is out there to use, which is a good point.

alt: MH has hit the market using 'key words' for selling his brand... anything that has African_American on it anywhere.

daviss: The band at pemberton was an all black band and their theme was HIT THE ROAD JACK Those kids could really step

daviss: I used to go to the Cotton Bowl when they had the battle of the bands

daviss: They finally got to see an all black Rodeo

daviss: The Bill Pickett Invitational came here several years ago

Seventies Soulchild: great! My kids get to see horses and cows often enough... they love horseback riding and four wheeling They still have rodeos all over the south and southwest

daviss: I enjoy things like that but its so rare especially here

alt: my first and only experience with Black rodeo's was when I spent time at Tinker AFB in OKla.... we would go over to Boley, OK for that all-black rodeo

daviss: Prison Rodeo alt lol It was one of the best I wonder if it is still as popular as it used to be

alt: dunno daviss, but it was a big thing in Boley... course I was there looking at 'other' types of animals
