You know how I am multi-tasking. Ingrid_Doweary: I spent about six hours at the National Archives in DC yesterday and of course learned something new. AYWalton: oh wonderful, Ingrid. Ingrid_Doweary: Since this is women's history month, it was timely to learn of a Union Civil war surgeon named, Dr. Mary Edwards Walker. wb Deannie. AYWalton: sounds interesting. deannie: Everything is good here...how about you AYWalton: was just reading about her, Ingrid----wow she was a character! Ingrid_Doweary: She was captured by the Confederates, imprisoned in Richmond,Virginia released in a prisoner exchange for a confederate doctor and was a recipient of the congressional medal of honor. AYWalton: she was quite a character! Ingrid_Doweary: Yes it seems that she was. Her honor was revoked on technicality but restored posthumously by Pres. Carter in 1977. 3rdthawkins: Blake Griffin! I don't blame her for keeping the medal.
